A day in the Life

Quarantine Day 4

Did you know that horses are just overgrown dogs?

Because they totally are..

And I am thankful for every bit of craziness they bring into our lives.

Today, while the sun was shinning, we got to head out and spend a little time with these crazy characters. It felt so good to go out, stretch our legs, and snap some pictures of them.

We cleaned their stalls, checked on the soon-to-be-Mamas (we’re expecting baby goats and sheep within the next week or so.. ) and really enjoyed what felt like (maybe) the beginning of spring. Although, we have been fooled before. *sigh*

Today was a good productive day, though.

We processed a turkey, and that in and of itself is a huge feat!

We turned one of her breasts into sandwich meat, packaged up her legs individually (because one leg could be a meal for the four of us), rendered her fat, souped her bones and turned her neck into gravy. That alone would have been a hugely productive day.

But we decided to keep going with the energy we had, and even (finally) got around to planting our seeds. Although, since the winter does not seem to be loosening its grasp any time soon, I guess I don’t have to feel like we’re overly behind.

We just managed to get all the seeds neatly planted and labelled, and then this happened…

Ahh, life with a bottle goat.
