Our Golden Retrievers

The golden retriever is even-tempered, intelligent and affectionate. Golden retrievers are playful, yet gentle with children, and they tend to get along well with other pets and strangers.

These dogs are eager to please, which probably explains why they respond so well to obedience training and are such popular service dogs. They also like to work, whether it involves hunting birds or fetching their guardian’s slippers..

Golden retrievers are not often barkers, and they lack guard instincts, so do not count on them to make good watchdogs. However, some golden retrievers will let you know when strangers are approaching.

This breed likes to be active. Remember, golden retrievers are bird dogs at heart, so they love a good game of fetch or a swim. If exercise is provided daily, golden retrievers can adapt to any type of home, even if it is a city apartment.

Our Retrievers, Creeper and Flurry, are family. Sweet, loveable, affectionate, and often goofy family members. They live here, alongside us, on our farm in Prince Edward Island. They can often be seen “helping” herd our sheep, keep our chickens in line or swimming from the dock as we go for a paddle on the pond. They have plenty of room to roam, explore and play! Both dogs have a heart for children, as is typical of the breed, are curious and love to meet new animals, and will often demand affection from the mailman or some random passerby. They are both happy, active adults with no health concerns.

Our puppies grow up around cats, older dogs, their parents, chickens, goats and sheep. They learn to play nicely with all kinds of animals and so will integrate into your already busy household, easily. They will be loving playmates of other dogs and cats alike.

Their parents are here onsite and will most likely compete for your attention when you get here to meet our puppies. They love attention and cuddles, just as much as the puppies do.

Our Retrievers are all raised by our son here on the farm. As Creeper, (Mom) is his baby, the funds from these puppies go straight to his education fund!
